You are looking at
a machined 800mm long (862mm total length including machined ends), 16mm diameter ballscrew.
This is what you need to drive your CNC machine!
Now all the hard work has been done for you! No more paying hundreds of dollars for a professional to machine your ballscrews.
No need to work out the machining specifications as these ballscrews have been machined to perfectly match our range of 16mm ballscrew supports (BK12/BF12, EK12,EF12, FK12,FF12).
The driven end has been machined to 6.35mm (1/4 inch) to match the shafts of NEMA23 stepper motors
.
What is a ballscrew?
A ball screw is a mechanical linear actuator that translates rotational motion to linear motion with little friction. A threaded shaft provides a helical raceway for ball bearings which act as a precision screw. As well as being able to apply or withstand high thrust loads, they can do so with minimum internal friction. They are made to close tolerances and are therefore suitable for use in situations in which high precision is necessary. The ball assembly acts as the nut while the threaded shaft is the screw.
What is the advantage of a ballscrew over acme screw or threaded rod?
Low friction in ball screws yields high mechanical efficiency compared to alternatives. A typical ball screw may be 90 percent efficient, versus 50 percent efficiency of an Acme lead screw of equal size. The higher cost of ball screws may thus be offset by lower power requirements for the same net performance. I.e. if you load up a threaded rod or acme screw, then it becomes very difficult to turn, whereas a ballscrew will still be quite easy to turn.
Why buy from us rather than someone overseas?
We are based in Melbourne, and all stock is located at our Melbourne warehouse. If there are any problems, we can quickly solve it, whereas if you bought from overseas you will have to pay for the shipping to return the item. Also, our ballscrews come shipped in plywood crates, with each ballscrew individually separated from the next. The crates are then loaded into a shipping container, without any further handling. Below is how our ballscrews are shipped to us:
If you buy from an overseas seller, packaging will be minimum so as to reduce postage costs. Numerous customers have had to buy replacement ballscrews from us, as the ones they bought from overseas arrived damaged!
Features include:
Ball nut pre-installed (please do not remove the ball nut as the balls will fall out and cannot be replaced!)
Professionally machined from the same factory that manufactures the ballscrews
The motor attachment point has been machined to 1/4" (6.35mm) to match the shafts of NEMA23 stepper motors!
Machined to suit our 16mm ballscrew supports
C7 rating
Teflon seals to prevent debris entering ballscrew
Perfect for your DIY CNC routers, mills, lathes
No more slop like you would get with acme or threaded rods!
Oil nipple installed
We also have ballscrews in 20mm, 25mm, 32mm and a massive 40mm!
Suits X, Y or Z axis
No more unwanted errors in your machining work!
Item located in Melbourne,
so you will get it fast and packed well!
Don't risk having it shipped from overseas!
